Monstera Adansonii (Swiss Cheese Plant)
Monstera Adansonii Care
Can grow just about anywhere inside. Will tolerate low light, but grows faster and gives more dramatic leaves in a brighter spot. Leaves will burn in direct sun.
Wait until the soil is dry to a depth of 1-2”, then water directly into the soil (not on the stem). Monstera can handle a little underwatering better than overwatering. Roots that stand in water will rot.
Monstera wil be fine in any indoor environment, but they do love a morning misting once a week or so.
Pests & Problems
Keep an eye out for common indoor pests like spider mites, scale, and mealybugs. Treat with neem oil or pest control sprays.
Monstera are slightly toxic. Ingestion will cause stomach and mouth irritation and possible vomiting.
Monstera love to climb and vine. Don’t be afraid to add a moss pole or decorative stake.
