What the Role is All About

  • Supervise, train and assist employees in customer service, store maintenance, and inventory
  • Develop and maintain a schedule for store associates and visual merchandisers
  • Develop and maintain a schedule for marketing/ product promotions centered on traditional retail sales cycles
  • Seek better ways to promote the store, the product line, and service within the store
  • Maintain proper inventory levels, ensure stocking of the sales floor, and maintain reporting to buyer to ensure maximum efficiency in meeting sales goals through continuous, optimized stock flow
  • Implement cross training of employees to always ensure maximum efficiency
  • Manage all controllable costs with a view to maintaining profitability
  • Ensure the store is always safe, clean, and presentable
  • Hire and train as needed to ensure adequate personnel on hand to provide outstanding customer service
  • Assist with back-end tasks including loading products into Shopify and inventory audits
  • Share feedback, ideas, and insights with owner

What We Expect From You

  • Pro-active in-store planning skills
  • Self-motivated leadership and strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience managing staff and schedules
  • Strong sales and customer service skills
  • Highly developed organizational skills
  • Ability to operate basic business software programs including point of sale, inventory management, employee scheduling, etc.
  • A bonus if the candidate knows the houseplant marketplace
  • Minimum 2 years management experience required

Greenwood Shop Plant Care Associate

Studio City, CA
Hourly, Part-Time, reports to Store Manager.
Approximately 20 hours per week.

What the Role is All About

  • Care for and maintain Greenwood's plant collection
  • Assist in purchasing plants (placing orders, traveling to nurseries, working with wholesalers)
  • Deliver amazing service and build sales by assisting each customer based on their needs.
  • Utilize knowledge of and passion for house plants and plant care to assist customers in potting and caring for plants.
  • Assisting customers with style, home décor, and accessories purchases beyond plants.
  • Fulfilling online orders correctly and efficiently.
  • Multi-tasking, jumping into any activity as needed to support the business.
  • Sharing feedback, ideas and insights with management.
  • Connect with multiple customers at a time, making things quick and easy.

What We Expect From You

  • Extensive knowledge of indoor plants. Experience caring for wide range of indoor plants, knowledge of the needs of the plants including pests, diseases and treatments.
  • Friendly, helpful and excited to work around plants.
  • Knowledgeable about indoor plant care, including which plants need which kind of light, which plants are animal-friendly, and how to pot and care for houseplants and succulents.
  • Know the houseplant marketplace, including trends and social media hashtags
  • Customer focused. Patient with children and adults.
  • Artful and inspirational.
  • Pride in your appearance and that of the store.
  • Bring your best ideas to improve the business and customer experience.

Our Associates:

  • Are at least 18 years old.
  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • Communicate effectively and confidently.
  • Process information and operate store systems accurately.
  • Are available weekends and holidays on which retail stores are traditionally open.
  • Assist in processing and replenishing and keeping the store looking great.
  • Must bend, reach, stretch for product as well as lift, carry and move at least 40 pounds |18 kilos.
